CORONA VIRUS (COVID-19)
***OCTOBER 2023***
Cancellation season is now upon us with lots colds & bugs flying around! We still request that you do not book appointments if you are knowingly unwell. Also please do not to come in if you have a cold, flu or covid-19. Even just the sniffles. Your piercing can become infected if you are unwell, also if we become too unwell we may need to close the studio & reschedule your appointment. Just a reminder that we require a minimum of 24 hours notice to reschedule. If you do not contact us & are a no show on the day you will lose your deposit if we cannot fill your space at the last minute.
***FEBRUARY 2023***
Wearing facemasks in the studio is NO LONGER required!
We still request that you do not book appointments if you are knowingly unwell, also not to come in if you have a cold or covid-19 symptoms. Fresh new piercings are likely to become infected if you are unwell, even if it’s just a sniffle.
We will continue a 5 customer max limit (inside the studio) for the foreseeable future. With this in mind, please dress appropriately for wet or cold weather in case we are at capacity, should you wish to wait outside until we have finished.
If any of our vulnerable customers would still like us to wear a face mask whilst they are in the studio then this is not a problem, please inform us of this when you arrive (or book over the phone) & we would be more than happy to pop on a mask. We would also ask any other customers wishing to enter the studio whilst we have a vulnerable customer in, to either wait outside, or to please respect our policy & put on a mask to enter the studio.
Thank you for continuing to support our small business.

***JANUARY 2023***
Following the unfortunate closure of our studio during Christmas 2022 (after we both contracted covid -19) we will still continue to wear masks in the studio to protect our customers.
We know this is in no longer compulsory but we also insist our customers wear masks inside studio too, to protect us as much as possible. We also ask customers not to book appointments if they are knowingly unwell, also not to come in if they have a cold or covid-19 symptoms.
We will keep this policy in place with plans to finally stop wearing masks in Spring 2023.
We will be keeping the 4 customer max limit (inside the studio) for the foreseeable future. With this in mind, please dress appropriately for wet or cold weather in case we are at capacity, should you wish to wait outside until we have finished.

*** FEBRUARY/MARCH 2022***
. . . It’s still not over yet!
We understand that all restrictions are now lifted but we kindly ask our customers of all ages to still wear a facemask & PLEASE DO NOT COME IN if you have any Covid-19 symptoms at all.
We need to protect our business, our staff & our customers.
Our diary is so full of bookings we cannot risk being unable to work due to illness.
Although masks are not compulsory they still will be when entering our studio for the time being.
We are also keeping our 4 person max in studio policy & asking people to wait outside until it is their turn.
THANK YOU for following our requirements :)
On a more personal level, I would just like to remind those that do give me verbal abuse & argue against our policy that this is not an unreasonble request considering the world is coming out of a global pandemic. I do not need to take your unkind words & I will refuse to serve you.

***OCTOBER 2021***
Well it’s been a long 18 months . . .
And many of you feared that we had completely closed down . . .
BUT . . .
We are very pleased to announce we are back
& the studio is . . .
NOW OPEN!
However, in light of the current situation, we have made some changes.
To ensure the safety of our staff & our customers we now have a new procedure that we would kindly ask you to follow :)
Please do not come in if you feel unwell or have a high temperature, cough or ‘cold/flu like’ symptoms.
Please wear a face covering whilst in the studio & use hand sanitiser on your arrival. We know this is not compulsory anymore but it does offer some protection to our customers & ourselves.
We now have a limit of 4 customers max in studio at any one time. This allows more airflow & allows better social distancing, rather than a crazy shop full like the old days! Plus, we can only serve one person at a time . . .
Thank you for following our requirements.
We look forward to welcoming you back into our studio!

***JULY 2021***
Although all government restrictions are being lifted on 19th July 2021 the studio will still remain closed for now.
Due to the close contact involved with our work, my age(!) & the studio being so small, we will only open when we consider the situation is safe for our customers & ourselves. This will mean when we have both had our full vaccinations against Covid-19 and the virus appears to be more under control.
At the moment there appears to be a third wave starting. Restrictions are being continuously lifted & huge sporting events are taking place so the infection rates are rising dramatically again. SAGE advises us to reopen as slowly as possible, we think it sensible to follow this advice so it looks like it will still be a while before we reopen yet.
There are also other things to bear in mind when we do reopen . . . We may get "pinged" by the NHS app and have to close again for 10 days. As important as it is to follow this rule, this could potentially happen at regular intervals. The upheaval would not only be frustrating for our customers, but also for ourselves & our business.
With all this in mind, I hope you understand why we can't commit to a definite opening date at the moment.
KEEP WELL & STAY SAFE
============================================================================================================
***1st April 2021***
Hi everyone
Just an update on the current situation.
Although the government may allow us to reopen on 12th April , we will only do so when we consider the situation is safe for our customers & ourselves. This will mean when we have both had our full vaccinations against Covid-19.
At present we are not taking any waiting list bookings.
We do look forward to seeing you when we return back to "normal".
In the meantime, please take care & stay safe.

NEW YEAR GREETINGS!
Well this thing is not going anywhere in a hurry is it?!
We are now in Tier 4 & the studio will still remain TEMPORARILY CLOSED.
KEEP HEALTHY & STAY SAFE

***December 2020***
Just another short update to let you know that the studio will still remain closed until we feel it is safe enough for us & our customers to reopen. With the way things are it is looking like this could be well into next year.
We wish all of our customers a very Merry Christmas & Healthy Happy New Year!

*** 1st September 2020 ***
(edited 9th September)
.CLOSED.
I understand the government says the beauty & nail salons, piercing & tattoo parlours are allowed to return to work but with the sudden rise in infection rates I am not yet comfortable to return & likely I will not be for a long time yet.
Scientific & medical advice states, that treatments or services performed in the 'high risk zone' & being directly in front of the client's face (even wearing a visor & mask) are the most risky in terms of catching or spreading the virus, because splashes or droplets from the mouth & nose are present, even if they can't be seen. The majority of piercings we do are in the 'high risk zone' which is why I am so apprehensive. Close contact cannot be avoided when it comes to performing a body piercing!
For now, I still wish to remain safely removed from any social interaction in the studio. This is due to my age group being considered more at high risk.
This is an extremely challenging time for me especially, because I love my job & I miss the hustle & bustle of our busy studio!
I do apologise that I cannot give you a definite re-opening date.
I hope you can understand my feelings regarding this situation.
Keep Well & Stay Safe
Steve

***Friday 10th July 2020***
Just a little update because (judging by your enthusiastic emails) we understand that you are all very keen to get booked in & as I keep saying, we really do appreciate it & thank you greatly for your support!
BUT . . .
Why is there always a but?!
AccuPierce Ltd will still remain closed for now.
We are not planning on starting a waiting list at the moment & this is due to the uncertainty of when we will open our doors to you lovely lot again!
First priority will go to those that were booked but we had to cancel, then the rest of you will get your chance to book in!
We will be back!
At some point . . .
But it might be a long time yet. Please hang in there!
We will discuss & review the situation again at the end of August.
:)
TAKE CARE
============================================================================================================
*** Monday 15th June 2020***
A personal note from our company director.
I hope everyone is safe & keeping well.
We are receiving a great number of emails requesting to pre-book appointments & asking when we plan to re open the studio again . . .
Thank you for your enthusiasm! :)
We have discussed our options at great length & we are not 100% sure exactly when we will re open & with sincere apologies, we cannot set a date on it just yet. This is solely due to my age being extremely close to those that were asked to self isolate, because our age group is considered more at high risk. I’m an extremely rare vintage that needs to be protected!
Re-opening is a real concern for us because the studio is so small. I feel this is an extremely challenging time for me especially, because close physical contact cannot be avoided when it comes to performing a body piercing.
I can confirm, we are highly unlikely to be opening our doors when the government says that the hairdressers, barbers, beauty & nail salons, piercing & tattoo parlours are allowed to return to work in July. We will wait to see what happens & this could likely be well past government guidelines.
My feelings at the moment, are that things are all being relaxed far too quickly! Guidelines appear to be changing on a weekly (even daily) basis. . . Talk of reducing social distancing rules does not seem sensible when the virus has not yet disappeared. For now, I wish to remain safely removed from all of the risks involved with close social interaction.
When we are ready to re open the studio, rather than letting each customer know personally, the plan is to notify everyone here on our website in this CORONA VIRUS (COVID 19) section.
We believe this is the best way to do this, due to the high volume of clients requesting personal emails to pre book appointments.
(If you paid deposit for an appointment that was cancelled by us or yourself due to lockdown & you are having any concerns since we last spoke, then please drop me an email at info@accupierce.com rather than calling the studio, because I will see this sooner. I personally assure that you will not lose your money).
I sincerely hope you can understand my personal position by wanting to protect both my daughter & myself in these uncertain times.
We are hugely grateful for your continuous support & we thank you for your patience in this unusual situation.
Stay Safe & Keep Positive!
Best Wishes
Steve

*** UPDATE 13th May 2020 ***
Following the prime minister’s update of the corona virus pandemic on Sunday 10th May 2020, AccuPierce Ltd shall remain closed until we consider it is safe to re open for our customers & for ourselves.
We understand this is frustrating, but due to the close physical nature of our service we are unable to confirm exactly when this will be.
We THANK YOU for your patience & loyalty during this very unsettling time.
HUGE APOLOGIES but we are unable to reply to any emails or telephone calls received during the studio closure. Once we return to work any enquiries will be answered & replied to promptly.

TEMPORARY STUDIO CLOSURE
For the safety and WELL BEING of our customers, our team and the wider surrounding communities, We have had to make the difficult decision to temporarily close our studio.
Following the latest government guidance, which is asking people to reduce social interaction wherever possible, & due to the size of our small studio & how busy we get, we believe that choosing to close our studio is the right decision for us.
